![]() Dot Esports is naming Echo, the omnic supporting actor from the McCree and Ashe Reunion cinematic, as the newest hero, though it'll be a few more days until we know for sure. Both of these game modes are expected to be playable at BlizzCon, along with the unveiling of at least one new hero, though no information as to whether existing heroes (or all the collectables players have earned for them so far!) will all carry over between games. A new game mode called "Push" on a Toronto based map is also mentioned, though without any specific details. While Blizzard has a long history of starting and stopping projects, as well as keeping their projects under very tight wraps until they're ready to be announced, this also isn't the first time development of a Starcraft shooter has floundered.ĮSPN's leaks showcase a new logo, and purportedly include information pertaining to a system of Hero talents and in-game items for the PvE side of the game, describing a 4 player co-op story mission in Lúcio's home of Rio de Janeiro purportedly in the style of Left 4 Dead (though presumably with less zombies or survival elements and more robots). This isn't the first we've heard of Overwatch 2 either, as several months ago Kotaku reported that development of a Starcraft first-person shooter and announced mobile project were cancelled in order to divert resources into Diablo IV and Overwatch 2. The spoilers were purportedly included as part of BlizzCon preparation materials along with input from BlizzCon staff. The details include a new logo, new game modes, new heroes, and perhaps most importantly add PvE elements to the game. Closed Beta Tests usually have a big effect on the final product, and could even lead to massive changes, just like what we’ve seen in the delay of Ubisoft’s The Settlers reboot.ESPN has reported inside sources and BlizzCon-related documents citing Overwatch 2, direct sequel to the award winning competitive shooter, will be unveiled at BlizzCon 2019. ![]() None of these are final and should not be taken as a representation of the final product. ![]() Of course, these leaks are just that – leaks. On a more superficial note, the Overwatch 2 leaks also revealed the game’s menu screen, which showed how players can log-in either through a QR Code or through an email and password combination. The existence of a Battle Pass highly suggests that Overwatch 2 will be free-to-play, which is a slippery slope that leads also to the possibility that Overwatch 2 will require mobile phone registration to combat Smurf accounts, and so on so forth. The Battle Pass reveal actually insinuates more than just the progression system. The Overwatch 2 leaks also referenced “Talents”, which might mean Overwatch 2 will have some sort of role-playing game mechanics as well. The progression system also shows that some of the heroes will be unlockable through the Battle Pass, along with “Hero Shards” and “Role Shards”. Overwatch 2 will feature a Battle Pass as a way to dole out rewards to players as they progress through the game, as revealed by Helba. Apart from the game’s overhauled gameplay mechanics, it appears that it will still have the same progression mechanics present in the first one. Now, Overwatch 2 leaks also revealed even more nitty-gritty details about the game. OOO Look OW2 has a Battle Pass system /DoL9f5hqG7 The game will still be multiplayer, and hence the game’s current Closed Beta Testing Phase has players working together in both PvE and PvP environments. Overwatch 2 will serve as a sequel to the original Overwatch and will have a stronger focus on PvE. Overwatch 2 leaks have been out as the game is now being tested by a limited audience in its Closed Beta Testing Phase.
